There are ten UUs representing four congregations coming together to help out with the Katrina Relief effort in New Orleans. The work week begins Monday, July 13. Rev Dr Claudene F. Oliva from the Unitarian Unversalist Church of Evansville has coordinated the registration of the volunteers, which includes four teenagers.
Bob and Terry are flying in on Saturday,July 11, will get settled in the dorm and checkout the city, and will meet the group on Sunday.
We’ll keep YOU posted on our experiences and reflections as we see and learn about the efforts to rebuild the New Orleans’ neighborhoods after the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005.
